Chapter 111: Surah Al-Lahab (The Flame)
111:1

تَبَّتْ يَدَاۤ اَبِيْ لَهَبٍ Abu Lahab’s hands will perish
وَّ تَبَّؕ and he will perish.
Verse 1

Abu Lahab’s hands will perish and he will perish.
111:2
Play Translation
مَاۤ اَغْنٰى عَنْهُ Will avail him not
مَالُهٗ وَ مَا His wealth and that
كَسَبَؕ which he earns
Verse 2

His wealth and that which he earns will not avail him.
111:3
Play Translation
سَيَصْلٰى نَارًا He will burn in fire
ذَاتَ لَهَبٍۚۖ giving rise to flames —

111:4

وَّ امْرَاَتُهٗ١ؕ And his wife —
حَمَّالَةَ الْحَطَبِۚ the bearer of slander;

And his wife — the bearer of slander;
111:5

فِيْ جِيْدِهَا Upon her neck
حَبْلٌ مِّنْ مَّسَدٍ a halter of twisted rope!
